
Hip #30 sold to Narvick International for $380,000

Gainesway stallions sired two of the three highest-priced juveniles at the Barretts Select Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training on March 21.
A colt from the first crop by Corinthian sold early in the day to Narvick International for $380,000, second highest price overall in the sale. About an hour later, a colt by Tapit sold to Patrice Miller/EQB for $340,000, third best price of the sale.
The Corinthian colt was hip 30, a gray/roan out of multiple stakes winner Hollow Miss, by With Approval. The half brother to Graded stakes-winning juvenile He’s Got Grit worked in :10 1/5 at the March 18 breeze show, co-second fastest time of the day. Bred in Kentucky by Curtis Green, he was purchased at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Select Sale for $130,000 by Dapple Bloodstock, and consigned to Barretts by Wavertree, agent.
The Tapit colt was hip 72, a gun-metal gray out of 2010 stakes producer Sawgrass Express. The late May foal also worked an eighth in :10 1/5 on March 18 for the Dapple/Wavertree connections. He was bred in Kentucky by Hartwell Farm, and sold for $60,000 at the 2010 Keeneland September Sale.
Grade 1 winner Corinthian is standing the 2011 season for $25,000, payable when foal stands and nurses. Champion Sire Tapit stands for $80,000, payable when foal stands and nurses.
