Afleet Alex's impressive list of stakes winners include Travers S. (G1) and Pegasus H. (G3) winner Afleet Express; Puerto Rican Grade 2 winner Cuqui's Love; and Withers S. (G3) winner Afleet Again. Afleet Express is Gainesway's newest stallion for 2011; he will stand next year for $10,000 LFS&N.
In the six furlong Brandywine, Alexandra Rylee dueled through a half-mile in a quick :45.35 seconds before taking command in the stretch to best the field by 4 1/2-lengths in a final time of 1:09.72. The 82 Beyer Speed Figure is a career best.
Alexandra Rylee has got off to a fast start in her young career. The 2-year-old bay filly is 3-0-0 in four starts, earning $111,320 for owner Cash Is King LLC, the same group that campaigned Afleet Alex. Alexandra Rylee broke her maiden Aug. 28 at Saratoga in her debut, then won an allowance race at Parx Racing on Oct. 18.
