Afleet Alex colt scores in debut

Wednesday, July 03, 2013 | Afleet Alex
Tashir looked like a much more experienced racehorse in his career debut Wednesday at Delaware Park as the 2-year-old Afleet Alex colt overcame a tough start and a wide trip to score a professional two-length victory going 5 1/2-furlongs.

After breaking a step slow, Tashir got into gear going into the turn, going wide into the stretch to collar the front-runner Frat Man in mid-stretch. After switching lead, Tashir pulled away strongly in the late stages to win with plenty of energy.

Bred in Kentucky by Peter Blum and Gerry Dilger, Tashir is one of six winners out of Twin Induction, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 Las Virgenes S. winner A. P. Adventure.
