Dublin, the first Grade 1 winner from the first crop by Afleet Alex, will make his next appearance in the Kentucky Derby (G1), trainer D. Wayne Lukas confirmed.
Fresh off a hard-fought third in the $1 million Arkansas Derby (G1), Dublin takes $408,623 in earnings on to Churchill Downs to prepare for the first Classic race of this year's Triple Crown.
"He had dead aim and he might have gotten a nose in front at some point, but you've got to be impressed with how the speed held pretty good," the Hall of Famer Lukas said. "I've got no complaints. We will look at this as a prep and see where we are. We're disappointed not to win, but I was pleased with the effort."
