VIDEO). April 29 at Belmont Park to win by 5 1/2-lengths over a yielding turf course. This was the first stakes victory in her career; she was second in last autumn's $125,000 Ticonderoga S., also at Belmont.
Sent off the 2-1 favorite, Chorus Music was fifth for the first six furlongs. Nearing the top of the stretch, Alex Solis swung her wide for clear running, but it wasn't until the eighth pole when she really took off, flying by pacesetter Exclusive Scheme to win going away. The final time for the mile was 1:38.71, giving her a career-best Beyer Speed Figure of 96.
The Irish Linnet was the first start since November for Chorus Music. The chestnut mare, now 6, was bred in New York by Lynn Scace, who owned her for the first five starts of her career. Now racing in the colors of Curragh Stables and Gary Juster, she is 5-6-2 in 18 career starts, with earnings of $190,113.
Strategic Mission is the sire of millionaire and multiple Grade 1 winner Showing Up, who set track records on both the turf and dirt, as well as two-time Panamanian champion Golden Strategy.
