A two-year-old colt from the first crop by Corinthian breezed :10 1/5 in preparation for Barretts March Select Sale, co-second best time of the day on March 18.
The colt would sell four days later for $380,000, second highest price of the entire sale.
Hip 30, a gray/roan out of multiple stakes winner Hollow Miss, by With Approval, is a half brother to Graded stakes-winning juvenile He’s Got Grit and multiple stakes placed juvenile Take the Money. His first two dams are both stakes mares and multiple stakes producers. Consigned by Wavertree, agent, the colt will be the only Corinthian offered at Barretts on March 21. He first sold at the 2010 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Select Sale for $130,000.
Corinthian is one of the most well regarded freshman stallions of 2011. The millionaire Grade 1-winning miler was bred to a full book of top mares his first few seasons, and horseman have gone on record as saying Corinthian appears to have the goods to achieve immediate success.
