Corinthian 2YO breezes fast, sells well at Barretts

Sunday, May 15, 2011 |
A colt from the first crop by Corinthian sold for $180,000 after breezing the co-fastest quarter mile at the preview show for the Barretts May Sale of Juveniles in Training (VIDEO).

Hip No. 21 was sold to Mrs. Hisae Kato, and the sale price was the third highest of any two-year-old sold at the May 16 auction. During the preview show on May 13, the colt worked in :21 2/5, a time equaled only by the eventual sale topper.

Consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc., the Corinthian colt is out of the Menifee mare Menifeeque, winner of Calder's Mia's Hope S. The family includes Aristides H. winner Never Wavering and Thoroughbred Club of America S. (G3) victress Indyanne.
