Ten Thirty clocked in an easy 8 3/4-length winner in the $50,380 Bird of Pay S. on Aug. 31 to give Corinthian his fifth stakes horse of 2012. With $1.55 million in progeny earnings this year, Corinthian ranks seventh on the second-crop sire list.
The final day of August was especially productive for the Gainesway stallion in the 2-year-old division; in addition to Ten Thirty's facile victory, Corinthian had juvenile maiden winners at Monmouth Park and Hoosier Park.
Bred in Kentucky by Michael Evans and Corinthian Syndicate, dueled through the first half-mile of the 6 1/2-furlong Bird of Pay, then pulled clear in mid-stretch to win with plenty in reserve.
Ten Thirty is the first foal out of the Pulpit mare Julie's Touch, who is a half sister to Grade 3 winner Summer Mis and the five-time stakes winner Julie's Prize.
