Corinthian 2yo stays perfect in $66,700 Meadowlake S.

Muppet Man gave top-10 second-crop sire Corinthian his fourth stakes horse of 2012, drawing off for an impressive 4 3/4-length tally in the $66,7000 Meadowlake S. a seven-furlong race for juveniles colts at Arlington Park (VIDEO).

Corinthian's second group of runners have continued a stellar career for the young Gainesway stallion, who finished last year ranked fourth on the Freshman Sire list.

After sitting in second just behind pacesetter Emile early, Muppet Man took the lead at the three-eighths pole and quickly drew away from the field, opening up by some six lengths in mid-stretch before easing up late. Jeffrey Sanchez was aboard the Jim DiVito trainee, who got the distance in 1:23.97.

"This is a real nice horse," said DiVito. "He does everything real easy. He gets over the ground nice. He trains any way you want. He's an easy horse to train."

Muppet Man, who wired maidens in his debut on July 1, remained perfect in his brief career. He added $38,820 to his bankroll which now stands at $62,820 for her owner/breeder Curtis Green.
