Delaunay wins his third stakes of 2012

Smoke Glacken’s Delaunay, ran away with the $61,100 Bet On Sunshine Saturday at Churchill Downs. The 5-year-old gelding beat Laurie’s Rocket by 5 ½ lengths while clocking six furlongs in 1:10.19 over a track rated fast.

Trained by Tom Amoss and ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan, Delaunay battled with a foe for the first four furlongs, then shook clear in the stretch to win easily.

Delaunay earned $35,355; overall, he has won 10 of 35 starts and $344,455. His victories this year include wins in the $50,000 Kelly's Landing S. and the Temperence Hill S.
