Bolstered by a $380,000 colt at Barretts March and a $250,000 colt at Keeneland April, the first two-year-olds in training by Corinthian are averaging nearly four times his inaugural stud fee.
Seven Corinthian juveniles have sold at two-year-olds in training sales this year for an average of $158,142. This ranks Corinthian third among all active Kentucky stallions in his siring crop, and represents a return of 3.95% on the initial fee.
At Keeneland on April 11, hip #103 sold to Lake Villa Farm for $250,000 after working an eighth of a mile in :21 flat. From the consignment of Murray Smith, agent, the colt is a half brother to two stakes horses, and out of a half sister to the dam of Champion Vindication.
Corinthian’s next juveniles will be offered at the Ocala Breeders’ Sale, April 18-21. The Grade 1 winner is standing the 2011 season for $25,000, payable when foal stands and nurses, and is booked full.
