Mares in foal to Gainesway's freshman stallions

Thursday, February 28, 2013 |

To Honor and Serve and Tapizar, Gainesway's two Grade 1-winning freshman stallions, have both had their first mares scanned and officially pronounced in foal.

To Honor and Serve's first mare to check in foal is the stakes-placed Harlan's Holiday mare Lady On Holiday, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Bold Start. Owned by Nordic Thoroughbreds, Lady On Holiday was covered on Feb. 14.

Tapizar's first mare to get in foal is five-time winner Ocean Magic. The maiden mare by Posse is owned by Jody Huckabay and Jim & Pat Hayes, who sent her to Tapizar to be covered on Feb. 11.
