Gainesway-foaled and  -raised It's Tea Time scored an authoritative 7 1/4-length victory in the G3 Lake Placid at Saratoga on Aug. 22. This was the first graded stakes win for the 3-year-old filly who was second this past spring in the Central Bank Ashland (G1) at Keeneland.

It's Tea Time races for her breeder/owner Alex G. Campbell. She is 3-2-0 in seven lifetime starts, with earnings of $242,397.

Heavy rains at Saratoga forced the Lake Placid off the turf to the sloppy main track. With the surface switch, the field scratched down to three runners.  It's Tea Time bided her time in third for the first six furlongs, then moved to the lead near the top of the stretch and pulled away in the final furlong under Julien Leparoux. She completed the 1 1/8-miles in 1:54.52.

It's Tea Time is out of the mare Prof. McGonagall, who earned over $100,000 and is a daughter of the Grade 1 winner Rootentootenwooten. Both mares were also campaigned by Campbell.
