A yearling filly by Indian Charlie and closely related to champion Indian Blessing topped the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale on Feb. 7th.
Consigned by Gainesway, Agent, the dark bay/brown filly sold for $245,000 to Gavin Murphy and Neil Bowden's SF Bloodstock, and was the highest-priced yearling sold at this venue since 2007.
Bred in Virginia by Wick and Carter McNeely, the dark bay/brown filly is out of the stakes mare Lady’s Legacy, already dam of three stakes horses, including the dam of five-time Grade 1 winner and dual Eclipse Champion Indian Blessing ($2,595,420). Indian Blessing is also by Indian Charlie.
Gainesway was the Sale’s second leading consignor overall by average, and third leader by gross, selling 100% of its horses offered.
On the racing front, Gainesway sales consignments continue to yield stellar results. Through the first five weeks of 2011, Gainesway consignments had produced seven stakes horses, led by last weekend’s Las Virgenes (G1) victress Zazu, a daughter of Gainesway stallion Tapit.
