The $100,000 Indiana Downs Distaff S. was a runaway for Go Ask Alex, as the 3-year-old daughter of Afleet Alex cruised home to a 7 1/4-length victress in course-record time for the mile event on turf.

Go Ask Alex came into the Distaff of a troubled trip in the Appalachian S. (G3T) at Keeneland last month. Things went much smoother this time as she broke well and was on top soon after the start. Sent off the 8-5 favorite, she cut brisk fractions of :46 3/5 for the half mile and 1:10 2/5 for six furlongs, yet she still had plenty in reserve and simply drew away from the field. The final time of 1:34 2/5 was 3/5 faster than the previous course record.

The bay filly has been well-traveled in a career that began at Churchill Downs last summer. She has raced at five different tracks in just eight lifetime starts. She has won two of her last three races, with lifetime earnings of $97,456. She is owned by John and Kim Glenney, and trained by John.

Go Ask Alex is out of the stakes-winning mare Dominique's Joy, whose biggest win came in the Grade 3 Joe Namath H. She is also the dam of Orthodox (Pulpit), winner of the 2009 American Turf S. (G3) at Churchill Downs.

Go Ask Alex becomes the sixth stakes winner from Afleet Alex's first crop. He is both the leading sire of stakes winners, blacktype winners (5) and Graded stakes winners (4) among all North American second-crop sires, and has 2010 progeny earnings of more than $1 million.
