Dabirsim (Fr), a two-time Group 1-winning 2-year-old colt from the first crop of leading freshman sire Hat Trick (Jpn), was honored as Europe's Champion Juvenile at the annual Cartier Awards ceremonies Tuesday, Nov. 15 in London, England.
Undefeated from five starts in his illustrious 2-year-old campaign, Dabirsim capped off his perfect season with a courageous win in the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Stakes at Longchamp on Arc Day, overcoming trouble to prove best. He also won the Group 1 Prix Morny and the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg in France.
Out of the Royal Academy mare Rumored, Dabirsim has already bankrolled $643,112 from his championship run. He is the top performer from the exciting debut crop of Hat Trick, who was recently acquired by Gainesway Farm. Hat Trick currently ranks No. 3 on the North American Freshman Sires list, and is set to stand his much-anticipated first season at Gainesway in 2012 for a fee of $15,000.
Hat Trick himself was a champion Grade 1 son of the great Sunday Silence.
