Hightap, a 3-year-old filly by Tapit, had high expectations from her owners Winchell Thoroughbreds, LLC and Gainesway Thoroughbreds, Ltd going into the Dogwood Stakes (G3) on May 30th.
Stalking the pace early on, Hightap made a four-wide bid at the top of the stretch to put away all rivals and win by over three lengths, stopping the clock in 1:35.78. She became Tapit's fourth graded stakes winner from his debut crop.
Bred by Springland Farm, Hightap increased her lifetime record to three wins from five starts with earnings of $126,365.
