Reigning Eclipse Champion Informed Decision became the ninth graded stakes winner of the year sold by Gainesway Sales, when she raced to victory in the $100,000 Chicago H. (G3) at Arlington on July 4th.

The win was the 12th in 17 career starts for Informed Decision, a yearling sale graduate from Gainesway’s 2006 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July selected consignment. Only one other consignor has sold more Graded winners this year, and no other consignor has sold more from the FTK July Sale.

A gray filly by Monarchos out of Palanga, by His Majesty, Informed Decision was bred in Kentucky by Dr.’s Chuck Kidder and Nancy Cole, and sold for $150,000, highest price for any yearling filly by her sire that year. She has compiled a record of 17-12-0-4 and earnings of $1,892,759 for George Strawbridge’s Augustin Stable and trainer Jonathan Sheppard.

In the Chicago H., Informed Decision carried top weight of 124 lbs., giving from 6 to 9 lbs. to the entire field. The prohibitive favorite under regular rider Julien Leparoux, she launched her bid coming three-wide into the stretch, and was confidently ridden to the wire.

Winner of the 2009 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1), Informed Decision is one of 31 current stakes horses consigned by Gainesway.
