Orientate's 5-year-old daughter Little Polka Dot ran her winning streak to four with a game victory in the $100,000 Louisiana Showcase Ladies Day Sprint S. July 2 at Evangeline Downs.

The winning streak started with an allowance win March 20 at Fair Grounds, a similar race at Mountaineer Park in April, then a 1 3/4-length win in the $63,000 Unbridled Sidney S. May 14 at Churchill Downs.

Little Polka Dot got little rest in the 5 1/2-furlong Showcase. The dark bay dueled the entire way, never more than a head away from the top spot while facing challenges from four different foes. On the wire in a blanket finish, just a head and neck separated the top three finishers.

The win was the second straight stakes victory for Little Polka Dot, who is now 8-1-4 in 17 starts, earning $267,999 for owner Maggi Moss and trainer Tom Amoss. She was bred in Louisiana by Southern Equine Stables and  is out of the Regal Intention stakes-winning mare Silky Oaks.
