A half brother to champion and Classic winner Lookin At Lucky, by champion and classic winner Afleet Alex, will be offered at the 2010 Saratoga Selected Sale on August 3rd.
Consigned by Gainesway, Hip #142 presents a rare opportunity for buyers to own a half sibling a reigning champion and classic winner. Lookin At Lucky won the 2009 Eclipse Award as champion 2-year-old, then drove to a stirring victory in the 2010 Preakness S. (G1). Lookin At Lucky has earned over $2,100,000, including six Graded stakes wins. Since breaking his maiden last July, Lookin At Lucky has competed in nine consecutive Graded stakes, with four Grade 1 wins. His career record stands at 10-7-1-1, and $2,113,000.
Champion Afleet Alex is the Leading Second Crop Sire of 2010, topping the charts by earnings, stakes winners, Graded stakes winners, and winners this year.
Hip #142 is also a half brother to multiple Graded stakes winner Kensai. An earner of $580,862, Kensai won the Jim Dandy (G2) and Dwyer S. (G2) as a 3-year-old, and has been stakes-placed in 2010 as a 4-year-old.
These two Graded stakes winners are the first foals to race from their young dam. Like the Afleet Alex yearling, both Lookin At Lucky and Kensei were bred by Gulf Coast Farm, are from the Mr. Prospector line. Hip #142 may be seen in the Gainesway courtyard at Saratoga, Barns 2 & 6.
