Mare in foal to Hat Trick sells for nearly $500K at Tattersalls

Gainesway stallion Hat Trick was well represented at the Tattersall's December Sale of Mares, held Dec. 3-6 at the British auction house. Rochitta, sold in foal to Hat Trick for $300,000 guineas, translating to close to $500,000 U.S. dollars. The daughter of Arch comes from the same family as 2-year-old champion colt Action This Day and Bodemeister.

Hat Trick, the sire of  Grade 1 Jamaica H. winner King David as well as Grade 3 Palm Beach S. winner Howe Great this year, is a top-20 Second-Crop sire in 2012. Hat Trick will stand at Gainesway in 2013 for $15,000 LFS&N.

Cataloged as hip No. 1486, 4-year-old Rochitta was consigned by Colbinstown Studs of Ireland and purchased by Mattock Equine. Rochitta is out of the Trempolino mare Lady Ilsley and is a half-sister to the multiple graded stakes winner and $1 million earner Lord Admiral.
