Mr. Greeley picks up fifth stakes winner of ‘09

Leading sire Mr. Greeley got his fifth stakes winner of the season when You Go West Girl rallied gamely to win the $107,500 John Hettinger S. on Sept. 20th at Belmont.

Trained by Tom Proctor for Craig Bernick, the multiple stakes-winning 5-year-old mare knew where the wire was and got there first, sticking her neck in front late to stop the clock in 1:48.05 for 1 1/8 miles over firm turf.

You Go West Girl was bred in New York by Gallaghers Stud, Inc. from of the multiple graded stakes-winning Runaway Groom mare Careless Heiress. Graded stakes-placed herself, the classy dark bay owns a record of 7-5-3 from 20 starts with earnings of $392,137. She has won or placed in eight stakes races.
