Little Widow Maker broke her maiden in style, winning the Debutante Stakes at Assiniboia Downs by 3 ¼ lengths on July 16.

The two-year-old daughter of Orientate was making just her second career start, and ran like a veteran, taking command from the outside with a furlong to go, then drawing off for the daylight victory. Little Widow Maker ran second in her first start on June 24 at Prairie Meadows. Bred in Kentucky by Adena Springs, and out of the Awesome Again mare In Love Again, Little Widow Maker races for Terry Propps, who purchased her as a yearling.

Little Widow Maker is the 19th stakes winner, 43rd career stakes horse by champion Orientate. In 2010, Orientate has sired 11 stakes horses and earners of more than $3,000,000. From July 14 to July 18, Orientate sired eight winners from coast to coast, including a 16-length maiden winner at Hollywood. He is both a leading General Sire and Juvenile Sire this year.
