Laysh Laysh Laysh won his second start in five days, with a decisive victory in the $50,000 Native Dancer S. at Laurel on January 17. The Kentucky-bred also became the fifth stakes winner from the first crop by Gainesway stallion Whywhywhy.
Laysh Laysh Laysh entered the Native Dancer starting gate coming off a January 13 victory at Aqueduct over 6 furlongs. Settling near the back of the pack for the one-mile event, the bay bided his time for three quarters, before rallying five-wide into the lane. He took command deep into the stretch, then drew clear for a 2 ¼-length victory.
Stakes-placed as a 3-year-old, Laysh Laysh Laysh has now won nine times in 33 starts, for earnings of $330,239. Bred by Fadi Hosn, he races for Vincent Scuderi, and is trained by Rick Dutrow.
Whywhywhy has sired eight stakes winners, 14 overall stakes horses, from his first three crops to race, including Breeders’ Cup Champion Nownownow ($903,329). The son of Mr. Greeley will stand the 2011 season for $3,500 live foal, due when foal stands and nurses.
