Multiple stakes winner Georgui Lui strode to a 7 ¾-length victory over older horses in the Clasico Jose Rodriguez Razzeto (G3) on December 18 in Peru, becoming the newest Graded stakes winner for Whywhywhy.
The three-year-old Kentucky bred has now won six times in seven 2010 starts, with stakes victories at 1400 meters, 1600 meters, and 1700 meters. In four of his victories this year, Georgui Lui carried 132 lbs. The gray/roan colt by Whywhywhy is the first foal out of the multiple French winner Cantonese Bed (Ire), by Barathea. Bred by the Fab Oak Stable, he was sold as a weanling by Eaton Sales at Keeneland November 2007, then again as a yearling by Bluewater Sales at Keeneland September 2008. He races in Peru for Los Pandys and trainer Roberto Salas.
Georgui Lui is from a live, deep European blacktype family, which includes Karmifira (Fr), the first mare offered at public auction in foal to Sea the Stars. Georgui Lui’s second and third dams are stakes mares, and his fourth dam produced five stakes horses.
Whywhywhy has sired seven stakes winners, three Graded winners, from his first three crops to race, including Breeders’ Cup Champion Nownownow ($903,329). He will stand the 2011 season for $3,500 live foal, due when foal stands and nurses.
