A daughter of Orientate achieved the second highest filly price at the Fasig-Tipton Texas Summer Yearling Sale on August 30.
Hip 85, a bay miss out of Lady Margot, by A.P. Indy, sold for $50,000 to Emile Barras, one-quarter of the way through Tuesday’s session, held at Lone Star Park. An accredited Louisiana-bred, the filly was consigned by Pelican State Thoroughbreds, agent.
Orientate was also a leading sire at the Saratoga Preferred Yearling Sale, posting the third best average of all sires, $120,000. The Champion Sprinter has sired four stakes winners and earners of more than $3.3 million this year.
