Queen Greeley, a 3-year-old daughter of Mr. Greeley, scored an easy 4 1/4-length victory in the one-mile Island Fashion S. at Sunland Park Feb. 28. This was her second consecutive Sunland stakes victory; she took the El Paso Times Jan. 24.

Queen Greeley went off the 7-5 favorite, and lived up to her backing as she stalked in fourth through the first half-mile, then made her move around the turn to take over at the top of the stretch and draw clear in the lane. Making just her fourth lifetime start, Queen Greeley earned a career-best 86 Beyer Speed Figure in the $50,000 stakes event, and is sure to top that number with racing experience.

Out of Broad Queen (Broad Brush), Queen Greeley was a $160,000 yearling purchase from the Gainesway Sales consignment at the 2008 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Yearling Sale. Queen Greeley now boasts a career mark of three wins and a third with earnings of $76,720.

The final weekend of February proved a productive one for Mr. Greeley. At Oaklawn Park, his 3-year-old son Instant Message won a first-level one-mile allowance race on Feb. 27; and the following day at Santa Anita, Sensational News won his career debut on the downhill turf course, earning a very impressive 89 Beyer Speed Figure.
