Quantum Miss made the $75,000 Blue Mountain Juvenile look like a one-horse race, with an eye-popping 16-length victory over seven other 2-year-old fillies at Penn National Race Course on Nov. 24. The daughter of Smoke Glacken ran six furlongs over a fast track in a swift 1:09.78, and earned a 94 Beyer Speed Figure. Her Beyer is the second-highest of any 2-year-old filly of 2010, and eight points better than Awesome Feather's figure in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).
In becoming the third juvenile stakes winner of the year for her sire, Quantum Miss set the pace from the outset, and already had a four length lead at the half, before she totally ran away from the field. Watch the video of the Blue Mountain

Third in her career debut in September, Quantum Miss defeated open maiden special weight company on Oct. 29 by 5 1/4 lengths in her second lifetime start. Heavily favored in the Blue Mountain, she has now earned $87,750 for owner/breeder Daniel Ryan.
Quanah County, the dam of Quantum Miss, was an above average 2-year-old, finishing second in the $100,000 Moccasin S. at Hollywood Park and second in a stakes at Bay Meadows.
Smoke Glacken is the sire of 46 career stakes winners, seven in 2010, including Persistently, who beat 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra in the Grade 1 Personal Ensign.
