Smoke Glacken colt graduates at Gulfstream

Ecabroni ran to his 2-5 odds with a smart looking two length victory Jan. 14 at Gulfstream Park in his second career start.

The 3-year-old son of Smoke Glacken showed his speed from the outset of the seven furlongs, maintaining a one-length lead for most of the trip before edging away late under light urging from Javier Castellano to get the distance in 1:24.76.

St. George Stables LLC bred and owns Ecabroni. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the gray or roan colt is 1-1-0 in two starts, earning $32,805.

Ecabroni is the second foal out of Miss Fury, whose siblings include seven-time stakes winner Gassan Royal and the stakes winners Alynar and Dactylic.
