The offspring of Gainesway stallions Smoke Glacken and Orientate proved popular with agent Buzz Chace at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2010 February Selected Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training on Feb. 16th.

Hip No. 157, a filly by Gainesway stallion Smoke Glacken and consigned by SVG Thoroughbreds, Agent, went to Buzz Chace, agent for West Point Thoroughbreds, for $120,000 as one of the top 20 prices in the sale.

The chestnut filly, who zipped an eighth in :10 1/5 at Friday’s Under Tack Show, is out of Minado, who is a granddaughter of the multiple graded stakes-placed mare All Rainbows, the dam of 1988 Kentucky Derby (G1) champ Winning Colors and a half-sister to 3-year-old champion filly Chris Evert.

On Day 1 of the sale, Chace also signed the ticket for another filly, Hip No. 33, by a Gainesway stallion. The daughter of Orientate, consigned by Crupi's New Castle Farm, Agent, went for $95,000, again to West Point Thoroughbreds.

The filly is a half-sister to the stakes winner Special Prize, by Prized, and comes from the family that produced $1.3 million dollar earner Win, who scored in six graded races in his career.
