Delaunay scored a front-running victory in the $50,000 Temperence H. Sept. 8 at Louisiana Downs to give the 5-year-old Smoke Glacken gelding his second stakes win of the year (VIDEO). Delaunay, who took the $61,100 Kelly's Landing S. June 23 at Churchill Downs, is one of nine stakes horses in 2012 by his sire.

Coming out of the gate, Delaunay broke a bit awkwardly but quickly assumed command to go up by 1 1/2-lengths after the first quarter-mile. With Gerard Melancon keeping his mount to the task, he maintained that advantage around the turn, then opened a bit more in the stretch to win by two lengths without being threatened. The final time for the six furlongs was 1:10.02, earning Delaunay a lifetime-best Beyer Speed Figure of 101.

Delauney is now 9-8-3 in 34 lifetime outings, with earnings of $309,100 for owner Maggi Moss. Delauney is out of Perilous Night, winner of the Squan Song S.
