Gainesway Sales and yearlings by Gainesway stallions posted big numbers at the first selected sessions of the Keeneland September Sale.
As a consignor, Gainesway sold nine of the 11 yearlings offered the first two evenings, for an average of $330,000. This was the second highest average for all consignors in Book 1 with at least five yearlings sold. Gainesway sold all five yearlings offered in Sunday’s first session, and four of the six yearlings offered during Monday’s second session. These yearlings included Tuesday’s second highest-priced colt, a $900,000 Distorted Humor yearling sold for Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings.
Gainesway stallions with yearlings during Book 1 also posted stellar results. Venerable Mr. Greeley posted a two-day average of $368,571, highlighted by two of the top six lots on Day 2. First-year stallion Corinthian had one yearling sell on Day 2, for $220,000.
Gainesway Sales also continued its long tradition of selling the vast majority of yearlings brought to the sales grounds.
