Tapit & Orientate are top two sires of 2YO winners

Gainesway stallions Tapit and Orientate are ranked first and second among all U.S. sires of two-year-old winners.

Topping the list is Champion Sire Tapit, whose 28 juvenile winners is the best in the nation by far. Tapit is also America’s leading sire of two-year-old stakes winners (5) and stakes horses (13), and is the fourth-ranked juvenile sire by earnings ($1.85 million). Recently singled out by Bill Oppenheim as “Vying for hottest sire on the planet honors,” Tapit will stand the 2011 season for $80,000 live foal.

Champion Orientate is tied for second among all North American-based sires, with 25 individual two-year-old winners. Six of Orientate’s juvenile winners are also stakes horses, and he ranks among the top ten sires by two-year-old stakes performers. Overall,  Orientate sired 21 stakes horses and earners of more than $5-million on the year. He will stand the 2011 season for $7,500 live foal.
