A 2-year-old son of Tapit was the highest priced colt at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May Sale of Juveniles in Training, selling for $450,000 late in the one-day session on Monday.

Hip No. 282 was consigned by Eddie Woods agent, and purchased by Steven Young, on behalf of an undisclosed client. The gray colt will be trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. Young commented after the sale, “I definitely think he’s a two-turn horse.” Out of the Cherokee Run mare Prall Street, he was bred in Kentucky by Fasig-Tipton executives Bill Graves and Dennis Lynch, who also raced the mare.

In 2010, Tapit has had 26 juveniles sell for an average of $140,556, including fillies for $400,000 and $350,000.
