Teen Pauline became Tapit’s latest 2-year-old star when the bay filly debuted with a historic victory [VIDEO] at Saratoga on July 25th, setting the five-furlong track record in dominant and eye-grabbing fashion.

Ridden by Julien Leparoux, Teen Pauline flashed early zip before taking full command of the race turning for home. She glided across the Saratoga main track while only being hand-ridden to the wire, finishing 4 3/4 lengths ahead of the runner-up. It was another 10 ½ lengths back to the third-place finisher. The final time was :56.53, lowering the previous track record by .01 set by J C’s Pride in 2011.

Teen Pauline is a homebred for owner Stonestreet Stables out of the Carson City mare Effectual, who herself was a 2-year-old graded stakes winner on the track. Steve Asmussen trains the promising Teen Pauline for Stonestreet.

Tapit has sired several top 2-year-olds in recent history, including champions Hansen and Stardom Bound, fellow Breeders’ Cup winner Tapitsfly, Grade 1 winner Laragh and more.
