Dancinginherdreams looked like something very special with a last-to-first tour de force in her racing debut at Keeneland on Oct. 10. The gray or roan filly became the 18th juvenile winner this year by Tapit, and earned a “TDN Rising Star” moniker with her effortless five length victory over the Polytrack (Video replay).

Unhurried out of the gate, Dancinginherdreams settled to the back of the 12 horse field. Under Julien Leparoux, she started to move into contention on the turn, passing horses without any urging from her rider. Going wide into the stretch, she overtook the leaders with ease, and won going away, with a superb six-furlong time of 1:10.28.

Dancinginherdreams was bred in Kentucky by Nancy Shuford, and is owned by John Oxley, who purchased her for $330,000 at the 2009 Keeneland September yearling sale. She is trained by John T. Ward, Jr.

Tapit is Kentucky's leading sire of juveniles, with over $960,000 in progeny earnings. His six 2-year-old stakes horses include three stakes winners, led by Darley Debutante (G1) winner Tell a Kelly. His newest juvenile stakes performer is Joyful Victory, who ran third in the Oct. 9 Frizette S. (G1) at Belmont Park. Two-time Champion SireTapit ranks #16 overall in North America on the General sire list, with 22 stakes horses and well over $5,200,000 in worldwide earnings.
