Tapit firster rolls romps in Churchill MSW

Sunday, November 17, 2013 | Tapit
Let It Snow drew away powerfully through the Churchill Downs stretch en route to a 5 3/4-length score for the gray 2-year-old daughter of Tapit (VIDEO).

Tapit is having another stellar year at stud, ranking in the top 10 on both the General and 2-year-old sire lists. He is also this year's top sire by gross at the 2013 U.S. auction sales. Gainesway recently announced Tapit's stud fee at $150,000 LFS&N for 2014.

Let It Snow was the controlling factor in Sunday's 6 1/2-furlong affair. After dueling through a half-mile in :46.95, the Stephen Lyster trainee pulled clear with ease at the head of the lane. Let It Snow covered the distance in 1:18.46 over a sloppy racetrack.

John Gunther purchased Let It Snow as a short yearling at the 2012 Keeneland January Horses of All Ages sale, going to $250,000 to secure the Kentucky-bred. Let It Snow is out of the stakes-placed Harlan's Holiday mare Lady on Holiday, a half-sister to Grade 3 Aristides S. winner Bold Start.
