Tapit was tops among all sires with six 2-year-olds on the 2010 Experimental Handicap, with five in the filly division and one in the colt division. Tapit finished 2010 as the nation's fourth-leading sire of 2-year-olds in terms of earnings, and first with stakes horses (13) and stakes winners (5).

The Experimental Free Handicap is published annually in late January by The Jockey Club since 1935. Each list is compiled for a hypothetical race for 2-year-olds in their division at 1 1/16 miles on dirt. To be eligible for weighting, a 2-year-old must have finished in the top four in a graded or listed stakes race.

Tapit is represented by two-time stakes winner Bandbox in the colt division. Bandbox the $100,000 Sleepy Hollow S. and $100,000 Charles Town Juvenile on the way to a three-for-four campaign. The gray/roan colt has won $143,680 for Hillwood Stable LLC.

Bandbox is one of a pair of 3-year-old colts on the 2011 Triple Crown trail. Tapizar, recent winner of the Grade 3 Sham S. at Santa Anita Park, will make his next start in the Grade 2 Robert Lewis S. on Feb. 12 at the same track.

The five Tapit fillies are led by a pair of graded stakes winners: Tell A Kelly, who amassed $270,110 and won the Del Mar Debutante (G1) and was second in the Oak Leaf S. (G1); and the brilliant Dancinginherdreams, who broke her maiden by five lengths at Keeneland in October, then was even more impressive when she similarly dominated in the Grade 2 Pocahontas S. at Churchill Downs on Halloween.
