The offspring of Tapit proved to be popular at the Mar. 2 Fasig-Tipton Calder Select Sale for 2-year-olds in Miami, with six different buyers signing tickets for horses sired by the Gainesway stallion.

Topping the list was the $400,000 brought by Hip No. 234, a filly consigned by Cary Frommer, agent and selling to Rick Porter's Fox Hill Farm, Tom McGreevy, agent. The filly, a gray or roan like her sire, is out of Wild Lucy Black, who has already produced three winners. She comes from a family that includes the 2-year-old champion Roving Boy and Charlie Papa, a stakes winner at Calder in 2009.

Cary Frommer also consigned Hip No. 163, a filly out of Purloin that brought $335,000 when the hammer fell for buyer Sovereign Stable Inc.  Named Steal the Dance, this gray or roan filly is a sister to two other winners, including a filly that is also by Tapit and is related to the multiple graded stakes winner and ultra-fast sprinter Caller I.D.

Tapit's top-priced colt was Hip No. 30, named Concealed Weapon, who went for $250,000 to E Stable.   Consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, the colt is out of Cherished Trick, who has produced six other winners.
