Tapit, the nation's leading sire of juvenile stakes winners and stakes horses, added to his stakes total with numbers 13 and 14 on Nov. 27. Tapit is also ranks fourth among all sires of juveniles in terms of earnings. His 2-year-old stakes winners include Tell a Kelly, winner of the Grade 1 Darley Debutante; Dancinginherdreams, the exciting winner of the Pocahontas (G2); and the listed winners Bandbox and Never Right Joey.
In the Grade 2 Demoiselle S. at Aqueduct, the filly Tap for Luck checked in third in the nine furlong, $200,000 race. She was previously second in the $100,000 Tempted (G3) three weeks ago over the same track. Her overall record is 1-1-1 in four starts, with earnings of $79,000.
Bred in Kentucky by Summit West Racing and Robert and Beverly Lewis Trust, Tap for Luck is out of Foxy Friend, who is a half-sister to the stakes winner Freefourracing.
At Philadelphia Park, Running Tap finished second in the seven furlong, $75,000 Pennsylvania Nursery S. Running Tap has been off the board only once in five career outings, earning $68,100 for owners Jim and Susan Hill.
Running Tap is out of Wild Flo, whose siblings include the likes of Dream Play, who won the Comely S. (G2) and Diplomat Lady, winner of the Hollywood Starlet (G1) and Stonerside Beaumont S. (G2). Running Tap was bred in Pennsylvania by Valerie McNeely Equivine Farm.
