Smoke Glacken sired his third major stakes winner in the past nine days, when Smoke It Right demolished his field in the $50,000 Lafayette Stakes at Evangeline Downs on Sept 6.

The two-year-old son of Smoke Glacken, who had set a New Track Record in his debut, broke first and never looked back, en route to an 8-length triumph. Speeding fractions of :21.78 and :45.21, and :57.84, he widened his advantage at every call, drawing off under his own volition down the stretch as “much the best.” Smoke It Right--who has won both his starts by 20+ combined lengths--was the 44th career stakes winner for Champion Smoke Glacken.

Smoke It Right was bred in Kentucky by Gainesway Farm, Robert Losey, & Laura McKinney, and races for Rand Metoyer and trainer Bernard Chatters. He is out of the winning Alphabet Soup mare Bride in the Wings.

Smoke Glacken has been one of the hottest sires in North America the past two weeks. On August 29, he sired Saratoga Grade 1 winner Persistently and Woodbine Grade 2 winner Smokey Fire. He already has progeny earnings exceeding $3,000,000 this season.
