Gainesway stallion Whywhywhy sired his first champion in 2010, when 3-year-old Georgui Lui rode a six-race win streak to the title of champion miler in Peru.
The gray/roan colt posted stakes wins at 1400 meters, 1600 meters, and 1700 meters in 2010, including a major Group win over older horses, and four consecutive victories under 132 lbs. He was named champion miler over all age groups.
The son of Whywhywhy is the first foal out of the multiple French winner Cantonese Bed (Ire), by Barathea. Bred in Kentucky by Fab Oak Stable, Georgui Lui was sold as a weanling at Keeneland November by Eaton Sales, then again as a yearling at Keeneland September by Bluewater Sales. He races in Peru for Los Pandys and trainer Roberto Salas.
On February 12, Georgui Lui made his 4-year-old debut in a 1700-meter stakes under 128 lbs., and won by two lengths.
Whywhywhy has sired eight stakes winners, 14 overall stakes horses, from his first three crops to race, including Breeders’ Cup Champion Nownownow ($903,329). He has two stakes winners already in 2011. The son of Mr. Greeley is standing the 2011 season for $3,500 live foal, due when foal stands and nurses.
