Our experienced team can handle all aspects of the sales process. The Gainesway Team expertly advises owners which sale would best suit their yearlings. The team’s wealth of experience in preparing horses for sale and aggressively marketing the horses gets the most out of our clients’ investment. Led by Michael Hernon and Brian Graves, the yearling team’s attention to detail assures that Gainesway clients receive top-drawer service, both on the farm and at the sales.
Gainesway offers the industry’s most exclusive pedigrees, from our own stock and for our clients, to yearling, weanling and broodmare buyers the world over. We consign to all the major Yearling and Mixed Sales in Kentucky, as well as to the Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale. We are very selective in building our consignments, which results in Gainesway ranking among the very top consignors worldwide by percentage of horses sold.
At the 2011 yearling sales, Gainesway was far and away the leading consignor by gross at FTK July, the second leading consignor by gross at Saratoga Select Sale, and third leader by gross at Keeneland September.
At the 2011 mixed sales, we sold the sale topper at FTK February, achieving the highest price for a yearling at that venue since 2007. In 2010, Gainesway sold the second highest-priced mare at Keeneland January (Bon Jovi Girl, at $950,000). Gainesway was also North America's third leading consignor of yearlings and second leading consignor of weanlings. Furthermore, Gainesway's percentage sold was by far the best of any top five consignor, selling 93% of all weanlings offered (26 of 28) and 86% of all yearlings (195 of 228).
If you are looking to purchase a mare, weanling, yearling or two-year-old in training, look for a consignor with a track record of selling stakes winners. Gainesway has a long history of prepping and/or consigning quality horses, like Eclipse Champions Informed Decision, Bird Town, and Orientate, Eclipse Award Finalists Classic Jewel, Noble's Promise, and Paddy O'Prado, and additional recent Grade 1 winners Afleet Express, Lady Sprinter, Showing Up, Dimitrova, Sky Mesa, and Sarafan. We never lose sight of the idea that every future foal, weanling or yearling is a potential stakes-winning graduate. Our reputation has been built upon our success, and we know that every Gainesway graduate is responsible for carrying that reputation into the future.
The thrill of watching our Gainesway graduates succeed on the race track is a reward we are proud to celebrate with our clients.
