Sincil Bank, a 2-year-old son of Hat Trick, sold for 270,000 guineas ($346,749) Oct. 24 to be the joint session-topper on Day 1 of the Tattersalls autumn horses in training sale in Newmarket. The colt was acquired by the SackvilleDonald agency on behalf of Hong Kong interests.

Racing for the Never Say Die partnership and trained by David Simcock, Sincil Bank has started three times during his juvenile season. He finished first in an Aug. 29 Newcastle maiden against 13 opponents but lost that debut victory to the stewards, who placed him second. Returned at Newcastle in September, he took a similar seven-furlong trip by 3½ lengths. Most recently the bay finished a close third to the highly regarded Dreamfield Oct. 19 at Newmarket.

Bred in Ohio by John T. L. Jones III, Sincil Bank is out of the Powerscourt mare Asuncion, whose dam Magic of Life (by Seattle Slew) won the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. The colt sold to BBA Ireland for $35,000 at the 2015 Keeneland September yearling sale and was sent to Europe. Offered by Tally-Ho Stud at the Goffs April breeze-up sale, the youngster brought £32,000 ($46,077) from Blandford Bloodstock.
